Saturday Night Live parodied “X-Mas Jammies” by the Holderness Family, and the Holderness Family responded like you’d expect a family who made a weird Christmas video to respond
In Saturday Night Live‘s Christmas episode with host Amy Adams, SNL parodied the Holderness family’s viral “X-Mas Jammies” video from Christmas 2013.
The Holderness family responded to the parody sketch with this comment on their blog, which proves they don’t quite grasp the gravity of SNL making fun of them:
"We LOVE Saturday Night Live. LOVE. Obsessed. If we were only cool enough to stay awake for it we would have seen them spoof our video. THIS. MAKES. MY. LIFE.Except for the affair and sociopath children — this is pretty spot on."
I think “spot on” is a huge understatement.
If you haven’t seen the video, please watch this cringe-worthy Christmas rap video of their “Year in Review” and squirm around uncomfortably like everyone else who watched it.
Ugh, that makes me physically ill.
Here’s the SNL sketch:
SNL nailed it, though!
Can you imagine if that guy was your dad? I’m sure he’s a super nice guy and everything, but once those kids are teenagers, they won’t be able to look at their parents the same way. It’s just so embarrassing.
On top of that, they write “If we were cool enough…”! If you were cool, there’s no way you would make that god-awful Christmas pajamas video.
Jesus turned over in his grave after watching the Holderness family’s “X-Mas Jammies,” but then he rolled back over after SNL‘s awesome parody.
