The college football bowl season has been marred by fights between BYU and Marshall at the Miami Beach Bowl. Things are boiling over at another southern Florida bowl, this one in Boca Raton, between the Northern Illinois Huskies and the Marshall Thundering Herd.

It isn’t quite the brawl that was in the Miami Beach Bowl, but it is still early in the game and there is a lot of time left. There were punches thrown though, and that is unacceptable in team sports, especially at the collegiate level.

Still this is becoming a bit of an issue that needs to get reigned in. It sets a bad example.

If there is any kind of humor in the situation, it is that the referee son’d the player who threw the swing, which was hilarious to watch. It isn’t exactly karmic justice, but it is still hilarious to watch, and surprising that the referee is so much larger.
