The Cleveland Browns asked Rex Grossman to play quarterback for them and he decided he’d rather keep what little dignity he has left instead.
Rex Grossman has not played a regular season down in the NFL since 2011. The Cleveland Browns need a quarterback. Rex Grossman was called by the Browns with an offer to play quarterback.
That’s not an SAT logic question, that’s a statement that is proof those in charge of running the Browns probably didn’t even take the SATs. For whatever reason, the Browns decided that calling Rex Grossman this week to see if he wanted to start in Week 17 was something they should do.
Perhaps they’ll want to lick a hot stove next, or stick their pinky finger into a pencil sharpener.
According to Jeremy Fowler from ESPN, the Browns reached out to Rex Grossman — highlighting either their desperateness or the level of f-cks they don’t give — but were turned down.
#Browns called Rex Grossman about joining team for one week but sides couldn't work out logistics. Grossman has whole family in for holiday

You know you’re in just the worst spot ever when Rex Grossman is a good idea. Tyler Thigpen is likely going to start for the Browns with Connor Shaw backing him up but at this point in the season the Browns are trying extra hard to suck as much as they can so we forget about how good they looked to be earlier in the year.
This is why you can’t have nice things, Cleveland.
