Dallas Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones said receiver Dez Bryant isn’t going anywhere, and that he’ll use the franchise tag on Bryant if it comes to that.
For those Cowboys fans worried about the future of Dez Bryant, you’re basically guaranteed at least another year of Dez, per the team’s owner. Jerry Jones all but guaranteed that the team would apply its franchise tag to the top-tier receiver if the two sides can’t agree to a long-term deal.
Dez isn't going anywhere, Jerry says on his radio show. They have the franchise tag to use if they can't get a long- term deal.

This shouldn’t be real groundbreaking news for Dallas Cowboys fans. The real struggle will be making the cap room for Dez. While the cap will go up as usual this offseason, the ‘Boys have a lot of big contracts floating around this team and finding the $15-$20 million or more of annual cap space to fit in the elite receiver could prove tricky.

Of course, they can fudge that with guaranteed money and bonuses, but eventually the cap will have its due and the Cowboys must remain mindful of that fact.
That said, the team has little choice. They have little depth at receiver beyond Bryant and the entire offensive dynamic changes when either Bryant or QB Tony Romo are absent.
But rest easy, Cowboys fans. For another year at least, you won’t have to worry about life without Dez.
