The Pittsburgh Panthers appear to be closing in on their man.
After losing two coaches in the past few years and firing their athletic director as a result, the Pittsburgh Panthers look to be closing in on their new coach.
The man for the job, if their plan comes together, will be Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi. His defenses at Michigan State have been ranked top-10 in the country for four straight seasons and the Spartans, as a result, have been one of the top programs in the country.
Narduzzi has been offered other jobs around the country before, but he won’t settle for a small school job and is looking for the right fit. Pittsburgh could be that fit.
After losing coaches Todd Graham to Arizona State University and and Paul Chryst to Wisconsin in the last few years, the Panthers need a coach who can stabilize the program and if Narduzzi does indeed take the job, he will be the man to do so.
The Panthers play in a power five conference, the ACC, and would be appealing to Narduzzi, the highest paid assistant in the Big 10. The Panthers having been burned by their head coaches lately, are on the trail for a new one, and the hottest assistant coach in college football appears to be their target.
