Fantasy Football is the most enjoyable activity in today’s world among NFL fans. Using some of the most famous players in the NFL on your own team week in and week out for potential monetary gain is a humongous thrill ride. Heck, believe it or not, there are some out there that just do it for fun.
Now when it comes to some of the top fantasy football performers in the NFL, these are generally some of the more famous personalities in the entire league; polarizing figures that garner the most interest among NFL fans, thanks in large part to their outstanding, consistent performances on the field of play.
So you would definitely go out of your way to assume that some of the top fantasy performers are also the players that sell the most jerseys, easily, right?
Well, as we recently found out, that’s not entirely the case.
According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, while some of the top fantasy performers are among the biggest jersey sellers, there are a few that might surprise you with their sales numbers and how low they actually rank on the market.
To get an even better look at this, take a look at this amazing graphic below that compares the top fantasy football players’ ESPN fantasy rankings and their actual jersey sales.

Shocking, right?
You would never think, especially with the die-hard fan base in Green Bay, that Aaron Rodgers would barely be in the top 20. Now Drew Brees being low could also be attributed to the Saints’ lackluster season, but it’s still a bit head-scratching nonetheless.
Then, going back to the subject of fan bases, Ben Roethlisberger jerseys being so low makes you raise an eyebrow also. Top fantasy performer or not, you would go to figure that his top is flying off the shelves with the die-hard Pittsburgh group.
Do you have any theories as to why some of the top fantasy performers have such low jersey sale rankings, especially given the fact that they’re generally some of the best talent the NFL has to offer today? Please, share them with us in the comments below.
