Colts’ Reggie Wayne Needs Offseason Triceps Surgery
By Sam Richmond
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne will require surgery this offseason due to a torn triceps.
We’ve known for a while that Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne has been playing through a torn triceps injury he suffered in Week 7.
Now, Wayne is revealing that such injury will require offseason surgery, per TitansInsider.com’s Terry McCormick.
This latest development should come as little surprise, but it represents a tough break for Wayne.
The wideout is 36 years old and has already seen a sharp decline in performance. The fact that he’s now going to have surgery doesn’t bode well for his future in the league.
However, the soon-to-be free agent doesn’t appear to have any plans to retire soon.
It certainly will be interesting to see how Wayne’s free agency unfolds this offseason.
Wayne currently has 62 catches for 688 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games this season.
The Colts drafted Wayne in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Miami. He has been one of the NFL’s most productive receivers throughout his career, amassing 1,068 catches for 14,254 yards and 82 touchdowns.
