Erik Spoelstra seems to believe that Miami Heat fans aren’t planning on booing LeBron James when the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Heat on Christmas.

One of the more interesting subplots heading into the Miami Heat-Cleveland Cavaliers Christmas day matchup is whether or not Heat fans will boo LeBron James in his return to Miami.

Well, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra suggested Wednesday that fans won’t boo LeBron after all the success Miami had with James in town.

It’s clear Spoelstra isn’t the only member of the Heat that believes LeBron shouldn’t get booed. Mario Chalmers and Dwyane Wade chimed in on the subject as well.

While there’s no denying Heat fans should be appreciate of what LeBron did for them for four years, it also wouldn’t be at all stunning to see a good chunk of fans boo James. Regardless of the circumstance, LeBron cut the Big Three era short and it’s understandable that Heat fans are still stung by that.

It certainly will be interesting to see how everything shakes down on Christmas, especially in light of Spoelstra, Wade and Chalmers basically urging fans not to boo.
