Andre Johnson Willing To Take Pay Cut To Stay With Texans
By Jack Crosby
Andre Johnson apparently wants to stay right where he is and he’s willing to take less money to make that happen.

Andre Johnson has been a staple of the Houston Texans for basically the entire time the organization has been in existence. This past summer, though, that relationship almost ended over a contract dispute. However, Johnson ended up coming back to the team and not missing a beat.
But with this regular season winding down, everything could happen all over again in a few months, which could result in Johnson taking a pay cut to stay with the only team that he’s known in his NFL career.
Apparently, though, he might be alright with that. While it’s not something that anyone in any line of work wants to face, it’s just reality.
“Nobody wants to hear that,” said Johnson via the Houston Chronicle, when asked if he’s willing to reduce his pay. “But it’s the nature of the business. I’ve seen it happen, heard it happen, had it happen to friends of mine. I understand that.”
Johnson was the No. 3 overall pick of the Houston Texans back in 2003, and he has been one of the best wide receivers of this generation.
One thing is for certain, though, and that’s the fact that he wants to finish it all off in Houston.
“I hope it all works out, where I can finish my career here and hopefully get this organization a Super Bowl before I retire,” Johnson said. “If it doesn’t, then I’d hate to see it end that way. But you have to just keep moving forward.”
These two sides are definitely headed for another interesting offseason.
