Ryan Lindley struggled mightily in the team’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks and opened the door for rookie quarterback Logan Thomas to possibly be the team’s starting quarterback for their regular season finale with playoff implications on the line.
However, Thomas struggled in practice this week and failed to take advantage of the opportunity and win the starter’s job so Bruce Arians is going back to Lindley who will start for the second straight week when the Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers.

The former sixth round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Lindley completed 18-of-44 passes for 216 yards and one interception for a 47.2 passer rating in the 35-6 loss to the Seahawks.
This could be the final start for Lindley regardless of his performance on Sunday against the 49ers with Drew Stanton recovering from a knee injury and Arians is optimistic he will be available for their playoff opponent, according to the team’s website, but NFL media insider, Ian Rapoport reported he may be done for the year after having an infection cleaned out.
Sources: #AZCardinals QB Drew Stanton had arthroscopic surgery to fight an infection. He’s recovering, but may be done for the year.
