Spurs Coyote Trolls NBA Christmas Uniforms (Photo)
The famous San Antonio Spurs ‘The Coyote’ mascot is up to his old antics again.
Every year the National Basketball Association unveils uniforms for Christmas games that have off-the-wall designs and are sometimes sleeved. This year the uniforms were more simple in design having the teams logo and jersey number on the front, with the number and the player’s first name on the back.
That didn’t stop the Coyote from having this year either.
Thursday, the San Antonio Spurs played the Oklahoma City Thunder in a Christmas Day match which would garner a lot of national attention. This was the perfect time for the Coyote to create another moment in front of the sold-out crowd.
The Coyote wore a Christmas jersey with a number and his first name “THE” on the back of his jersey in a playful jab at this years uniforms. The Spurs Coyote has had many moments over the years, whether it be dressing up as Batman after a bat got loose in the AT&T Center bringing a giant net, or his many rivalries with other mascots and players over the years.
San Antonio’s Coyote ranks among the best mascots in sports and Thursday’s uniform of choice adds to the long list of his shenanigans.
