Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans is quickly becoming one of the best players in the NBA. At the ripe age of 21 he is already showing that he is capable of becoming one of the game’s biggest stars.

In a game against the San Antonio Spurs he showed Manu Ginobili that he is not just an offensive force, but also a defensive one. I am not even sure why Manu tried because this attempt never had a chance. This was one of 5 blocks on the night for the big man as the Pelicans went on to beat the defending world champs 97-90.

Davis also contributed 22 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Is there anything that Davis can not do? He has simply taken his game to another level this year and his athletic ability to make plays like this have fans wanting more and more of the rising superstar.

Davis has the Pelicans sitting just one game outside of the playoff race at a respectable 15-14 record. But with that victory against the Spurs this young team is gaining confidence and looking to make a run and should they get in this is a tea that can do some damage. The Pelicans versus the Spurs would make for a fantastic first round playoff series.
