Arsenal Fan Loses Membership Card For ‘Persistent Standing’

Soccer sees some of the craziest fans in the world, but this guy received a raw deal.

We’ve all been there.  We buy expensive ticket to go see our team, with our friends, and sit among our people as we watch the hometown team try to send us home happy. Before that can happen though, disruptive fans decide to annoy the hell out of everybody surrounding them by never shutting up and never sitting in their seat. Arsenal fan @JayVonRomer might now be classified as one of those fans.

JayVonRomer was at the Arsenal-Queens Park Rangers game enjoying himself until the four minute mark of the first half when a stadium official made his presence felt.  He was written up for “persistent standing.”

However, maybe Romer wasn’t one of those “disruptive fans” we have all come to know and loathe.  A fellow fan took these shots as the official came to Romer:

Regardless, a stadium steward took away his membership card on the spot.  The official write-up specifically cited “persistent standing,” even though it looks clear as day that the entire section was standing simultaneously.

Romer, who sat in Block 26 on the Clock End, claims he will never go back to Emirates, and had a few choice words for the place he used to frequent.

As far as the actual game was concerned, Arsenal picked up the 2-1 win over QSR in the Premier League matchup.  Alexis Sanchez and Tomas Rosicky each scored for Arsenal to open up a 2-0 lead.  Charlie Austin put one home for QSR at the 79th minute mark, but it was too little too late.
