Browns’ Josh Gordon Suspended For Violation Of Team Rules
By Mike Dyce
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been suspended for violating team rules and will miss Week 17 of the 2014 NFL season.
It seems like Josh Gordon’s season will end the way it began, serving a suspension. Gordon had originally been suspended for the whole season, but that was eventually altered and he returned midway through the season.
Now, Gordon will be suspended for the final week of the season because he violated team rules according to the Cleveland Browns.
Gordon had been struggling in his return to football though, catching 24 catches, 303 yards and zero touchdowns in five games since being reinstated. You could assume that could be in part because of the inconsistent and poor quarterback play, but he dealt with that during a break out 2013 season as well.
The Browns made signed wide receiver Phil Bates off the practice squad to replace him.
As for what caused it, there is no further information at this point in time, but maybe it has something to do with this.
Which unfortunately seems to be par for the course when it comes to Gordon.
While there are those concerns for the team, there were also reports that Gordon has been out of shape. Gordon also admitted to not being up to speed with the offense yet, which you think would motivate Gordon to be at meetings on time.
