The Dallas Cowboys didn’t bring Rolando McClain to Washington so he wouldn’t get the rest of the team sick.

The Dallas Cowboys traveled to take on the Washington Redskins in their Week 17 match up and regular season finale. The Cowboys did so without middle linebacker Rolando McClain, who is ill and won’t be playing. McClain has been an anchor for the defense since he stepped in to fill in for Sean Lee who tore his ACL in the offseason.
It is a big loss but the Cowboys have already clinched the NFC East crown and really are just jockeying for seeding and a long shot at a first-round bye. The Cowboys seem focused on the postseason already once some more details about why the Cowboys left McClain behind in Texas.
Basically, they didn’t want whatever was causing McClain to be ill to infect the rest of the team as they prepared for the playoffs. In other words the Cowboys are keeping McClain in quarantine back in Dallas.
Rolando McClain has 102 degree fever. Cowboys didn't want to get the rest of team sick with playoffs next week. So he stayed home

It isn’t a bad idea, it makes a whole lot of sense. With how rarely the Cowboys get to the playoffs these days and how well they’re playing, I’d be cautious in their situation as well.
