He is only 5-9 and 175 pounds, but when Jamison Crowder gets the ball in his hands there are few players in college football who can do what he can. Crowder needed only 58 yards in the bowl game against Arizona State for his third straight 1,000-yard season and he is nearly halfway there at halftime with two catches for 26 yards.
But Crowder’s biggest contributions so far have come on special teams where Duke’s dynamic and diminutive Blue Devil took a punt back to the house for a 68-yard touchdown.
Crowder had 21 punt returns for 212 yards and a touchdown entering this game and took two of his 25 returns the distance last year as a junior. He could find a home for himself in the NFL as a slot receiver and kick and punt returner and don’t dismiss him because of his small stature, because he is as competitive as they come.
Jamison Crowder @dukefball just took a punt return back for 68yd TD. Coach @DavidCutcliffe says he is most competitive player ever coached.

This is pretty high praise from David Cutcliffe considering he’s coached Peyton Manning during their time together with the Tennessee Volunteers and Eli Manning when he was the head coach at Ole Miss.
The 68-yard return gave Duke some momentum to close the first half with back-t0-back scores less than two minutes apart as the Blue Devils trimmed the Sun Devil lead down to 20-17.
