A group of New York Jets‘ fans in Miami will wave ‘Fire Idzik’ towels to express their opinion that general manager John Idzik should be fired.

Surely Jets’ fans traffic in cliches. Surely they know the expression “don’t beat a dead horse.”

John Idzik will be fired. That horse is dead. There have been billboards, signs, Christmas cards, and a website, all created to express the opinion that Idzik should lose his job. Even with reports that Idzik is on his way out, these fans are so mad that they aren’t quite ready to let it go.

With just one week left in the NFL season, the creators of the website FireJohnIdzik.com have dispatched some fans in Miami to wave towels to make sure that Idzik is canned at season’s end.

Of course there are already reports that Idzik will be fired, so this might become more of a celebration than an actual call for action. In case you care, this is what the towels look like.

What may or may not be lost on these fans is that Idzik was going to get fired anyway because of the product on the field. But if these folks want to pat themselves on the back, more power to them.
