Jimmy Graham Admits Shoulder Injury Has Been Bothering Him
By Hayden Kane
New Orleans Saints‘ tight end Jimmy Graham has not looked like himself over the course of this NFL season, and he recently admitted that his lingering shoulder injury is one reason why.
Drew Brees. The New Orleans Saints’ coaches. Opposing defenses. Disgruntled fantasy football owners who reached for a tight end in their drafts. That is just the start of the list of people who have noticed that Jimmy Graham has not had his usual outstanding season in New Orleans.

It’s not as if Graham has been a scrub. He has 835 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. Even with double-digit touchdowns, however, he has not quite delivered the production that the Saints were hoping for when they signed him to a four-year, $40 million deal this off-season.
For his part, Graham knows that he has not had the kind of season he hoped for. One reason for his struggles is apparently a lingering shoulder injury, one for which he will require another MRI. Here is what Graham had to say about this season, as passed along by the New Orleans Time-Picayune:
"“I’m not going to make any excuses for it,” he said. “I think everyone plays hurt in this league. That’s just a part of the job.”Still, he added, the shoulder “was a battle every game. That’s just how it is when you’re trying to stay healthy.”"
Having missed the playoffs in a season in which they have a golden opportunity to win the division, the Saints will hope that Graham can heal with some rest and be ready for next season.
