The NCAA football coaching carousel gives Briles the job as the new play caller for the Baylor Bears
Nothing like keeping it in the family. Baylor Bears head coach Art Briles has promoted his son Kendal to be the new offensive coordinator for the team, starting with their bowl game at the Cotton Bowl next week according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram via SI.com.

Briles replaces Phil Montgomery, who bolted Baylor to become the head coach at Tulsa. Briles had been the passing game coordinator for the Bears so the hire makes sense. He knows the Bears offensive system in and out already. I don’t think you’ll notice much a change.
Baylor was third in offense this season in the nation with 6,976 yards. They were also the number one team in points per game this season with 48.8. Here is some reaction to the news.
Baylor coach Art Briles promotes son to offensive coordinator..one way of getting your son to stop asking you for money.

"@Jake_Trotter: RT @CraigSmoak: Art Briles says Kendal Briles is officially Baylor's OC moving forward" Wow! Shocking news! NOT!!!!! Lol.

As you can see not many are surprised this was the move to make. The last thing you want as you try to win a major bowl is to have a huge shake up, especially on offense. Briles will call plays from the field as the offensive coordinator.
