In stepped a member of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers after a family had their gifts stolen from their home this week right before Christmas

To be victimized is a horrible thing.  For a single mother of five who had her Christmas tree all filled with gifts under it up until the beginning of this past week, only to have it stolen right before the big day is even worse.  That’s where Carolina Panthers defensive line coach Eric Washington stepped in.

Crystal Davis, a single mother of five children had her house broken into early in the week and had all the gifts she had bought for Christmas for her children stolen.  The story aired on local Charlotte news and the community and the coach stepped in to fix things quickly.

Panthers coach Washington had his wife Amy and sister Angela go shopping on Christmas Eve for the family.  This was after the community poured in after the Sunday incident asking how they could also help out the family.

NBC Charlotte’s Rad Berky and photographer Ken Shermer were the ones who were able to deliver the gifts to the family.  It turns out Davis is a huge Panthers fan and has her tree’s ornaments decroated in Panthers team colors.

Per NBC Charlotte Davis was very grateful to receive the presents.

"Oh thank you so much, we are your number one fans"

A true blessing indeed.  Even in the midst of preparing for a big NFL game, the Washington family came through.

"We are just so thrilled to be able to share the holiday with Ms. Davis and her family. “We think every child should wake up and have a smile on Christmas morning"
