After suffering a scary injury in Week 15 that put him on the sidelines spitting up blood and shoving a trainer, Seahawks offensive tackle Russell Okung is cleared to play in the last game of the regular season against the St. Louis Rams. That’s good news for the Seahawks, who control their own playoff destiny with a win on Sunday.

"“Russell had a full week and he’s been cleared to play so Russell is in good shape,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. (via Pro Football Talk)"

Okung ended up in the hospital during that Week 15 game. He was blocked on an interception return by former Niners defensive end Ray McDonald and then was seen on the sidelines coughing up blood shortly after. He was taken to the hospital and found to have a bruised lung. He missed last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, but it sounds like he’ll be ready to help the Seahawks this week.

Another Seattle offensive veteran, center Max Unger is said to be a game time decision. Unger has missed five weeks with a high ankle sprain. He came back to practice on December 12th, before having another setback. This week has been the first week of consecutive practice days since he was injured.

"“Max made it through (practice),” Carroll said. “We’ll see how it goes. We’ll take it one day at a time.”"

Aside from the linemen, the Seahawks can expect to be without wide receiver Jermaine Kearse and defensive end Demarcus Dobbs. Cornerback Tharold Simon is also a possible scratch with a shoulder injury suffered in last week’s game.
