Tony Parker will rest for a while for the San Antonio Spurs as he deals with a left hamstring injury that continues to linger as a problem.
As long as their star players are ready for the playoffs, they will be OK.

That is the philosophy employed by many NBA teams, and none more so than the San Antonio Spurs. Head coach Gregg Popovich has consistently shown a willingness to stay away from his most important players during the grind of the season so as to have them ready for the playoffs. And as we know by now, it usually works pretty well.
Point guard Tony Parker is dealing with a left hamstring injury, and this weekend Popovich indicated that the team is going to rest him for a while to get things right. Here is what Pops said, as quoted by the San Antonio-Express News:
"“Every time he thinks it’s back, he feels something. He felt it at the end of the Clipper game. He gave it a run (Thursday). You can’t have him doing that so we’re going to sit him. Give it time and if we err, it’s on the conservative side. It keeps coming back and that’s not good, so we’re just going to sit him out for a while.”"
Considering the fact that the Spurs often proactively sit their studs during the regular season in the absence of any injury whatsoever, it is predictable that they would stay away from Parker as he deals with this injury.
Tony Parker is averaging 16.2 points and 5.2 assists per game so far this season. He has played 21 games.
