Starlin Castro is currently in an interesting situation in the Dominican Republic, as the Chicago Cubs shortstop has been connected to a nightclub shooting that could get very serious if he was more involved than he’s letting on. Initial reports indicated that Castro has been arrested and detained by Dominican police, while his agent is telling a very different story.
According to Castro’s agent, the Cubs shortstop was not involved in the alleged shooting at the nightclub, nor was he arrested for questioning. Instead, Paul Kinzer says his client voluntarily went in for questioning and was never released from custody because he was never held.
Kinzer on Castro: "Voluntarily, he went in and talked with them [the local authorities]. It wasn’t like he was taken in for questioning."

Kinzer said Starlin Castro is home in Monte Cristi now. "According to him, the police have video showing he wasn't involved," he said.

Kinzer said repeatedly that his client was never arrested. "He wasn't 'released,' because he was never 'held,'" Kinzer said.

It’s not a matter of whether or not Starling Castro spoke with police, rather it’s a matter of if he was forced to or not. Castro’s camp is claiming all contact with police was voluntary where other reports state that Castro was arrested and his house was raided.
Either way, this is a situation to monitor for both the MLB and the Chicago Cubs as you’re not going to hear the worst side of the story from Castro’s camp, but that’s also assuming there is indeed a worse side to the story.
