The Houston Texans didn’t make the playoffs, but got a touchdown from Alfred Blue while completing a winning season a year after going 2-14.

The Houston Texans’ hopes for making the playoffs disappeared when the Baltimore Ravens beat the Cleveland Browns, but they still completed a big turnaround season with a 23-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at NRG Stadium Sunday.

Alfred Blue gave Houston a first-half lead with a 1-yard touchdown run over the left side.

Houston got a touchdown and a safety in the fourth quarter to come from behind for the victory. The Texans finished 9-7 in coach Bill O’Brien’s first season after going 2-14 last year.

Blue entered the game in the second quarter after Arian Foster went down with a hamstring injury and finished with 39 yards on 17 carries along with his touchdown.

Blue finished his rookie season with 528 yards and two touchdowns on 169 carries after being taken in the sixth round of May’s draft out of LSU.

His biggest game of the season was Nov. 16 when he rushed for 156 yards on 36 carries in a win at Cleveland.

Foster ended the season with 1,246 yards in 13 games.

The Texans finished with a winning record by winning their final two games with quarterback Case Keenum starting. Houston’s fourth different quarterback of the season, Keenum was signed Dec. 15 after Ryan Fitzpatrick broke his leg.

The Texans were 6-6 in Fitzpatrick’s 12 starts, 1-1 in two games started by Ryan Mallett—who was lost for the season with a pectoral injury on Nov. 23—and 2-0 in two games started by Keenum. Rookie Tom Savage also played in two games in relief before being sidelined by a hand injury in Week 15.
