The Houston Texans need to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars and get a lot of help if they are to make the playoffs, but Arian Foster got them on the board early.

The Houston Texans got an early lead Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars when Case Keenum—their third different starting quarterback this season—flipped a short pass to Arian Foster and watched the former All-Pro go to work.

Foster made a guy miss and then got a terrific block from wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins out on the edge to score the 10-yard touchdown.

It’s Foster’s fifth receiving touchdown of the season to go with eight rushing scores. For Keenum, who also started last week, it was his first TD pass since Dec. 5, 2013, when he started for the Texans against the Jaguars.

In between then and now, Keenum was released by Houston and spent some time with the St. Louis Rams, although he did not see any game action. He was re-signed by the Texans off the Rams’ practice squad on Dec. 15 after Ryan Fitzpatrick was lost for the season with a broken leg.

Last week’s win over the Baltimore Ravens was Keenum’s first win in nine NFL starts.

Houston needs a ton of help to reach the playoffs—they have to beat Jacksonville and have the Cleveland Browns beat the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Diego Chargers.

Of course, they trail the Jaguars early in the second quarter, 10-7, so the rest of that may be moot. In any event, though, Houston will either win eight or nine games this season coming off last year’s 2-14 dumpster fire.

Foster left the game later with a hamstring injury.
