Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte hauled in his 102nd reception of the season on Sunday, the most catches by a running back in a season in NFL history.
It’s been a year to forget for the Chicago Bears and their offense.

However, there has been a bright spot on the Bears’ offense in 2014: running back Matt Forte.
The do-it-all back rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the third straight season and was a huge weapon in the passing game.
In fact, late in the Bears’ Week 17 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, Forte hauled in his 102nd reception (!!!) this season, giving him the NFL record for most catches by a running back in a single season.

Racking up that many catches as a running back is a truly incredible accomplishment for Forte. He undoubtedly cemented his status as one of the NFL’s best running backs for his play this season.
However, unfortunately for Forte, his play didn’t translate into many wins for Chicago, as they lost its 11th game of the season on Sunday.
