On a day when the Seattle Seahawks were shut out in the first half, Bruce Irvin got them some points against the St. Louis Rams.

The Seattle Seahawks struggled for a while with the St. Louis Rams with home-field advantage on the line, but got things going in the second half and secured the NFC’s top seed for the second straight season.

The Rams led 6-0 at the half and it was a 6-6 game after three quarters, but the Seahawks finally took the lead on a 9-yard run by Marshawn Lynch early in the fourth period.

A little more than two minutes later, Bruce Irvin delivered the knockout punch for Seattle in their 20-6 victory.

He grabbed a pass that Bobby Wagner knocked away from Rams’ tight end Lance Kendricks and streaked 49 yards to the end zone.

It’s Irvin’s second pick-six of the season. He had a 35-yard touchdown return with an interception in Seattle’s Week 9 win over the Oakland Raiders.

The linebacker has three career interceptions and also had a sack Sunday, bumping his career total to 16½ in three seasons.

The Seahawks selected Irvin with the 15th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft out of West Virginia.

Seattle’s defense had four sacks and forced three turnovers on Sunday.
