Former Duke Blue Devil Semi Ojeleye has left the school and will be joining Larry Brown and the SMU Mustangs
Playing behind Jahlil Okafor, Amile Jefferson, and Justise Winslow on Duke’s frontline, Ojeleye was unlikely to grab major minutes for the remainder of the season at Duke after only averaging 10.5 minutes per game and only appearing in six games this season.

According to SI.com, the Kansas native was also considering Wisconsin, Georgetown, and Nebraska as possible schools where he could play. Ultimately, he decided SMU was the better fit. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports the former Duke Blue Devils forward Semi Ojeleye is transferring to play for Larry Brown and SMU Mustangs.
Ojeleye will be eligible to play next season and will have two and half years of eligibility remaining.
While Ojeleye’s time at Duke was short, he will live on in Duke lore for being one of the few players in the history of basketball to smack his head on the backboard while blocking a shot.
Ojeleye is a freak athlete with a decent shooting stroke, and he should be a great addition to Brown’s up-tempo, fastbreak style of play at SMU. Brown got a steal in convincing Ojeleye to head to SMU.
