The New York Jets executed the perfect fake punt for a huge gain against the Miami Dolphins.

More from New York Jets

The New York Jets season has been a disaster, and it looks like head coach Rex Ryan and general manager John Idzik are out headed out the door as the organization cleans house.

So they’re playing for nothing but pride in the season finale on the road against the Miami Dolphins.

The Jets were clinging to a slim three point lead with four minutes left in the game, which would’ve given the Dolphins a lot of time to regain the lead or tie things up.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan decided to go for broke and called up a fake punt and it worked perfectly. Not only did they get the first down, they almost scored.

It looks like overall it was just shy of a 50-yard gain, and had he dodged that last defender it could’ve been a touchdown. There is so much space around him.
