The NFL season wraps up on Sunday and that means a day full of firings for head coaches around the league. One of the coaches that could be fired is Jim Harbaugh of the San Francisco 49ers.
There have been a plethora of rumors that Harbaugh would return to the college ranks and take the vacant head coaching job at Michigan. In fact, there are reports that he has already agreed to take the job on Monday, the day after the season ends.
That would be news to 49ers CEO Jed York, who told Alex Flanagan that he has not discussed it with Harbaugh, but acknowledged seeing the reports.
Of course that doesn’t mean anything really. If you were considering another job than your current one, you wouldn’t go tell your boss you’re mulling things over.
But 49ers fans who want Harbaugh fans to say will take this as a good sign that things are going well and amicable between the two.
