The Green Bay Packers are once again NFC North division champs and enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed after beating the Detroit Lions.

After a season in which the Green Bay Packers started out slow but managed to turn things around, they’re once again division champs in the NFC North and enter the postseason red hot. They’re not as hot as the Dallas Cowboys or Seattle Seahawks, but it’s very easy to argue that the Packers are the third best team in the NFC at the moment behind those two others.

They may be third best, but the Packers are the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs after beating the Detroit Lions rather soundly on Sunday afternoon to capture yet another NFC North title in the Aaron Rodgers-Mike McCarthy era.

It wasn’t an easy game, as Aaron Rodgers revealed himself to be more injured than he initially let on and was even stomped by Ndamukong Suh at one point in the game. But even getting carted to the locker room after a non-contact injury couldn’t keep Aaron Rodgers off the field as he came back to lead the Packers to the win and the No. 2 seed int he NFC.

What this means is that we very well could have watched an NFC Championship Game between the Packers and Seahawks be set up on Sunday afternoon as it’s going to be hard to beat either team in the divisional round in either Seattle or Green Bay. It’s not an impossible task, but it would be a rematch of a game earlier this season that the Packers would be more than happy to exact a little revenge on.

Either way, the Packers are in the postseason and it’s something that Packers fans are breathing a sigh of relief over.
