Bruce Arians Bigger Fan Of Ryan Lindley After Sunday

Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians has more comfort with quarterback Ryan Lindley after Sunday’s performance

If three interceptions means an NFL coach can be more comfortable with a quarterback, I’d hate to see how said quarterback’s performance was previously.  I’ll save you the research, it was horrible.  Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said he felt more comfortable with quarterback Ryan Lindley after a 20-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

More from Arizona Cardinals

Lindley, after going 18-44 for 216 yards with no touchdowns and one interception against the Seattle Seahawks the week before, turned around and was 23-39 for 316 yards with two touchdowns and the three interceptions.

After watching the game live though, the three interceptions were bad and he could, he should have had more picked but they were dropped.  One dropped interception was right before Lindley took the Cardinals down the field in four plays and 75 yards for a 41-yard touchdown pass to receiver Michael Floyd right before halftime.  Arians for his part said that performance made him feel better.

"Obviously, we’re all much more comfortable with Ryan after his performance today"

Obviously.  Listen, it is a better performance than Lindley has ever given, so I understand the sentiment.  However he still threw three very crucial interceptions in a tight game, including late in the fourth quarter that sealed the deal for the 49ers Sunday afternoon.

Word this morning from the Cardinals is general manager Steve Keim is hopeful that quarterback Drew Stanton can play this Saturday against the Carolina Panthers.  If he doesn’t play though, at least the Cardinals feel comfortable with Lindley.  Cardinals fans?  That’s a different story.
