Cleveland Browns coach Mike Pettine has seemingly lost patience with Johnny Manziel, saying “talk is cheap” after the quarterback called himself a “jackass”.

It appears the Cleveland Browns have had enough of quarterback Johnny Manziel and are treating the signal caller like a child.

Manziel, who has reportedly frustrated the coaching staff and front office multiple times this season – most recently after partying and missing a team related activity – has drawn the eye of the franchise who aren’t letting up easily.

Despite Johnny Manziel calling himself a ‘jackass’ earlier in the day, Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine doesn’t want to hear his excuses and says “talk is cheap”.

There was no marshmallow cuddling here. The Browns, to their credit, didn’t give Manziel a pass or allow him to skate by with an apology, which seems to suggest there might be more here than meets the eye.

If Johnny Manziel had simply missed a scheduled team activity that’s one thing – it happens. But the fact he’s being given such a cold shoulder seems to suggest there may have been other instances this season where the Cleveland Browns were disappointed in their quarterback and are now suggesting he quit with the words and show that he means business with his actions.

It’s an understandable stance and it should be interesting to see what the Cleveland Browns do in the upcoming NFL Draft and if they attempt to light a fire under Manziel by courting a college quarterback.

Clearly there is some frustration on the part of the Browns, who probably are wondering how seriously Manziel wants to take the NFL game.

At least he helped the bottom line though as he was the owner of the fourth best selling NFL jersey this season.
