The Oakland Raiders were one of the worst teams in the NFL, but they may have a franchise quarterback in Derek Carr, who fans are starting to rally behind.
It’s hard being an Oakland Raiders fan, as the team is never any good and the attempts to get good never pan out. But the drafting Derek Carr this past season ended up being a move that the Raiders are reaping the benefit of in more than one way.

Oakland didn’t manage many wins, but they’re building a lot of hope for the future with Carr, and fans are buying into it. According to DICK’s Jersey Report, the Raiders were led in jersey sales by Derek Carr, who finished No. 79 overall among all players in the NFL this season in sales. That’s an incredible mark as he bested fellow rookie Khalil Mack, who also ranked inside of the Top 100 of overall sales and was consistently near the top of rookie jersey reports on a weekly basis.
Carr is the quarterback though, and as much love that was given to Mack all season long, Carr had the best selling Raiders jersey out there. It’s an impressive feat, as Carr managed to sell more jerseys on the year than Doug Martin, Jake Locker and Eddie Lacy.
Darren McFadden even got some jersey love from fans all season long, as the longtime Raiders running back finished with 80th best selling jersey of the season.
There’s a lot of hope in the Black Hole that the Raiders will be better in 2014, and if jersey sales are any indication of how much stock is being invested in the team, fans are ready to watch Oakland take things to another level with this roster they’ve ben assembling this season.
