Jake Locker Leads Tennessee Titans In Jersey Sales For 2014 Season
By Jack Crosby
Despite struggling yet again on the field, Jake Locker was able to outsell all of his Tennessee Titans teammates this season on the jersey market.
The Tennessee Titans were far from the best team in the NFL on the field this season, but with any team, there always has to be a most popular player. One good way to gauge the popularity of a player is by taking a look at how many jerseys they have sold throughout the season.
So, with that being said and the 2014 regular season now in the books, who sold the most jerseys for the Tennessee Titans?
Well, believe it or not, that distinction goes to none other than quarterback Jake Locker.
Yes, according to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, the struggling Locker was still tops on his team in regards to jersey sales.
With the year now finished, Locker sits at the No. 78 spot, right behind Packers running back Eddie Lacy and just ahead of Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo.
Now of course, even though there are a lot of people that might be surprised by this, the fact of the matter is that the Titans really did not have too many polarizing stars on their team this season. Plus, these numbers reflect the entirety of the 2014 campaign, and in the beginning, there were some that thought Locker might turn the corner and get the job done.
As we saw this season, that was not the case, and he may have even seen his final days as the quarterback of the Tennessee Titans.
If this season was his last hurrah under center, though, what a way to go out, by having the best selling jersey on the team.
