The Dallas Cowboys closed out the regular season with a huge blowout win on the road against the Washington Redskins, finishing the season 12-4 and as the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs. The Cowboys went on a 4-0 tear this December, outscoring opponents 165-79 in that stretch, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones thinks it is coming at the right moment heading into the playoffs.
“This team has got a lot of pride,’’ Jones said, via the Dallas Morning News. “To me, everything about today says this is the character of the team. It starts with Jason Garrett, building it, but then he’s got it and he’s passing it along to the players.
“We’re playing well at the right time.’’
Cowboys fans everywhere are getting excited and thinking back to those Super Bowl runs of the 90s, and Jones is also comparing this team to those championship teams.
“Our team is as ready to do that as any team frankly that I’ve been associated with,’’ Jones said of carrying momentum into the postseason. “It’s got different nuances that some Cowboy teams I was with in the early ’90s, but still this team has some uniqueness to it that could serve us well in the playoffs.’’
