The Dallas Cowboys got a huge road win over the Washington Redskins in the final week of the NFL regular season, finishing 12-4 with the third seed in the NFC playoffs. Coming into the game there were reports from the Dallas Morning News saying the Cowboys were concerned about the living arrangements of wide receiver Dez Bryant, especially with a big contract headed his way.
The story alleges that there have been multiple police calls to the home and that there are multiple people living there.
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones made sure to make it clear that any sources from within his organization leaking information don’t know what they’re talking about.
“Nobody in the world knows those issues but me,” Jones said, “nobody breathing or living, any coach or anybody, knows anything that would concern me or Stephen about signing Dez to a contract. So anytime anybody says, ‘Cowboys sources in the Cowboys organization,’ they don’t know what they’re talking about, so they have no knowledge. I don’t share that with anybody.
“So I think that [story] was just really misplaced to have those sources saying they’re worried about this or worried about that.”
Jones did say that he appreciated the story for serving as a motivating factor for Bryant in the game, who went on to have a two touchdown performance.
