Philadelphia Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy wants to stay with the team and loves the franchise.

LeSean McCoy didn’t have the type of season that the Philadelphia Eagles were expecting to see from him, but he remains committed to the team moving forward. The Eagles missed the playoffs despite a strong start, and it was an embarrassing finish to what could have been a very special season.

This coming offseason is going to be a very intriguing one for the Eagles, as they have plenty of decisions to make. One of them will be what to do with McCoy, and whether or not to have him restructure his contract. More than likely he will be asked to take a bit of a pay cut, but he appears to want to stay with the Eagles moving forward.

Here are some of his comments about his future with the Eagles and loving the franchise as a whole.

"“The season just ended, and . . . I’m an Eagle. I love it here. My six years here have been excellent. I’ve been very, very, very productive here. I have a great relationship with my coaches, the owner.”"

Head coach Chip Kelly also talked about wanting McCoy to come back next season.

"“We’ll see what happens. It’s a business. Anything can happen; I know that. But I’m sure we can work something out. And hopefully, everything does work out. They know how I feel about them.”"

McCoy finished the season with 312 carries for 1,319 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers weren’t even close to the expectations that were given for him, but he was still a big piece for the Eagles’ offense.

Philadelphia has a lot of talent on their roster, and they are going to want to keep as much of it around as they can. Nick Foles getting hurt early in the season was a tough break for the Eagles, and they will be getting him back next season. There is no reason to gut the roster, which makes McCoy a very likely candidate to remain with the Eagles.
