Apparently in the NCAA a big hiring in football equals people wanting to go see a basketball game. Who knew? With Michigan on the brink of hiring Jim Harbaugh for the football team, naturally the basketball team has seen second-hand market prices for their basketball game on Tuesday night rise considerably and now in huge demand.
My big question is why? What is the draw at the basketball game that has nothing to do with the football program? Is this a show of support for the hire? Maybe it is because there is a rumor that he will speak at halftime of the basketball game. Maybe that’s what people are hoping to see in spending three to four times over the face value of ticket prices?
Per sbnation.com a lot of people who bought tickets recently are now seeing those prices skyrocket to the point of ridiculousness. People are finding tickets in their section are now going $90 to $100 more than they paid.
Well that’s the way it goes sometimes. It is interesting people would want to pay a lot of money just to hear a guy talk for a couple of minutes. The ticket price in essence is going up because of the halftime entertainment, not the game itself. Michigan is 7-5 and has lost four of its previous five games.
