What’s the plan here? I understand that Jim Harbaugh wore his welcome out but three out of four years he made the playoffs as well as the NFC Championship game. Of course, he also made the Super Bowl.

All that wasn’t enough to overcome what appears to be a terribly abrasive personality. Understandable. If you can choose to avoid people who are jerks, you do that.

However, that means you had better have a plan because the guy who replaces him is going to have a high bar. There is no way that most Niners fans will settle for anything but playoffs and possibly Conference Championship games.

A step back will be disastrous for the team, as fans could riot. Harbaugh didn’t go out a winner, but the expectation is that his replacement will start off as one immediately.
