Robert Griffin III Leads Washington Redskins In Jersey Sales For 2014 Season
By Jack Crosby

Even with all of the controversy, Robert Griffin III was still able to sell the most jerseys of anyone on the Washington Redskins.
2014 was not the year that it was expected to be for Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III on the field, However, off of it, particularly in the jersey sales department, it was pretty outstanding.
Despite all of the negative media surrounding Griffin and the team this year, believe it or not, the former Heisman winner led the team in jersey sales for the 2014 season.
According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, Griffin was indeed the top seller as far as jerseys go for the Washington Redskins. On the overall list for the 2014 season, Griffin checks in at No. 25 overall, right behind Calvin Johnson and right in front of fellow quarterback Drew Brees.
While this might come as a surprising statistic to some, it really isn’t all that far-fetched.
Coming into the season there were a lot of people hopeful that Griffin could indeed turn the corner. Therefore, his jersey sales were up there to begin with. Plus, even with all of the turmoil going on, there are still a lot of people out there that will support Griffin no matter what, and in that support, they’re going to scoop his jersey right up whenever they have the chance.
With rumors that he could maybe not be a member of the Redskins next season, one does have to wonder if this will be the final time that Griffin will be atop the jersey sales list of the Washington Redskins.
