Teddy Bridgewater leads the Minnesota Vikings in overall jersey sales this season.

The Minnesota Vikings finished their season 7-9 but they had about the most productive and promising 7-9 season of any team in the NFL this year. After looking at a slate of games that became even more daunting after losing Adrian Peterson for the season to a suspension, the Vikings willed their way to seven wins, mostly on the back of rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

As a show of support for their new franchise quarterback, Minnesota Vikings fans came out in droves to buy up Bridgewater’s jersey and wear it on their backs has he carried the team on his. Bridgewater made a serious case for Rookie of the Year, despite the fact that the award has already been won by the flashy play of New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

According to DICK’s Jersey Report, Beckham may have the flash but he doesn’t have the popularity that Bridgewater has. The rookie quarterback finished with more jersey sales among new players than Odell Beckham Jr did, while also finishing with the 58th best selling jersey in the NFL. Bridgewater is the only Vikings player to rank in the Top 100 for sales, as he continues to prove himself as the face of the franchise.

It’s an exciting time for the Vikings, as they took strides this season without losing out n a Top 15 draft pick, they’ll be getting Adrian Peterson back and will be in line to make even further strides in 2015. Bridgewater is a huge part of that success and the hope that’s being sold in Minnesota, and as long as he continues to be a star on the rise, the more Vikings fans will support him by buying up his jersey.
