The New England Patriots are the No. 1 seed in the AFC and their jersey sales are being led by the man who helped get them in that position.

The New England Patriots are the best team in the AFC heading into the postseason, as they own the No. 1 seed and have control of home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That’s something the hurt them last season when they fell a game short of a Super Bowl berth but this year things have no doubt changed.

More from New England Patriots

There was a point in the season where the Patriots were floundering and lost badly to a Kansas City Chiefs team that failed to reach the playoffs. Tom Brady was criticized for being washed up and past his prime, but the team was pulled back together by the very man everyone was throwing stones at.

Patriots fans were not throwing stones, instead they were buying up Brady’s jersey as a show of support for their longtime quarterback. According to DICK’s Jersey Report, Brady finished the season with the most Patriots jerseys sold among his teammates.

Brady finished the year No. 7 overall with Rob Gronkowski finishing at No. 14 overall among all NFL players, second on the team to Brady.

Gronkowksi bounced back this season as well, after missing most of the last two seasons to various injuries. He reemerged as a Brady’s top target for the New England offense, and was a large reason why the team secured the No. 1 seed when they did. Gronk has always been a fan favorite, and mixed in with Brady’s jersey sales it’s no surprise that their success on the field translated to success in jersey sales as well.

It’s unclear how far the Patriots can go in the postseason, but Brady and Gronk are firing on all cylinders and all of those jerseys they sold this year will liter Foxboro all postseason long.
