Tom Coughlin Told He Will Return To Coach The New York Giants in 2015
By Keith Myers
Despite another poor record in 2014, head coach Tom Coughlin has been informed that he will return as the head coach of the New York Giants for the NFL‘s 2015 season.
There is one less team on the market for a head coach this week. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the New York Giants have told head coach Tom Coughlin that he won’t be fired.
It had been widely assumed that Coughlin wouldn’t be back next season. The Giant’s are coming off back-to-back losing seasons. They also have lost more game that the season before for two seasons in a row, and haven’t finished with double-digit wins since 2010.

There is an outlier over that stretch though. In 2011, the Giants finished 9-7. They made the playoff as the winner of a bad NFC East that season as the only team in the division to finish above .500. They then went on to win the Super Bowl.
Overall though, the Giant’s under Coughlin haven’t been able to match the regular-season success they had during his early years in New York. After a disappointing first season for Coughlin in New York, the Giant’s made the playoffs four straight years after that. This includes a Super Bowl Championship in 2007.
Since then, things haven’t gone as smoothly for Coughlin and the New York. The Giant’s have made the playoffs just once in the last six seasons.
