Chances are good Alabama freshman linebacker Rashaan Evans will have a bright future with the Crimson Tide, yet his slip about night life in New Orleans probably put him in Nick Saban’s doghouse.

Children, or in this case, college freshme, just say the cutest things sometimes. This is why we’d all love to be a fly on the wall when Alabama coach Nick Saban has a closed door meeting with freshman linebacker Rashaan Evans.
Evans and the Crimson Tide are in New Orleans for a showdown against Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl as one half of the College Football Playoff semifinals. Saban and his staff have expected the players to treat this as a business trip, yet Evans made a slip of the tongue that couldn’t have made Saban happy when he said that the best part of being in New Orleans was “living it up on Bourbon Street.”

Oh…my. How much would you pay to see Saban’s reaction the first time he saw this?
Evans was one of Alabama’s prized recruits this season, as he appeared in all 12 games while recording 15 tackles, including two for loss and a quarterback sack. Two years from now, he’s probably going to be a highly-touted NFL Draft prospect on the verge of being yet another Crimson Tide alum making it big on Sundays.
For now, Evans is probably going to become more afraid of television microphones than he will be of 300-pound left tackles pulling on a sweep. You may want to say a prayer for him when the time to meet with Saban comes.
Good luck with that, Rashaan.
