The 15-year veteran worked out for the Nets, one of several teams that has shown interest in Martin, who played in 32 games for the Knicks last season. Martin expressed interest in the Cavaliers last week after they lost power forward Anderson Varejao to a season-ending Achilles injury. yet has not heard from Cleveland.
Considered to be a lottery team, the Bucks have jumped out to a 16-16 start despite losing first round pick Jabari Parker to a season-ending knee injury earlier this month. Milwaukee is in the market for front court depth, as injuries to Ersan Ilyasova and John Henson has forced them to rely on rookie second round selection Johnny O’Bryant over the past seven games.
Martin has a history with Kidd, as the two started on the Nets’ Eastern Conference championship teams in both 2001-02 and 2002-03. New Jersey made Martin the first overall pick in 2000 after his stellar career at the University of Cincinnati. He played with the Nets from 2000-04 and has since played with the Nuggets, Clippers and Knicks.
For his career, Martin has averaged 12.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
