LeBron James has been caught in a sticky situation with comments he made to Dwyane Wade, but he’s playing them down as not being basketball related.

With the Cleveland Cavaliers sitting at 18-13 through their first batch of games this season, LeBron James has already sparked rumors that he wants to leave and play somewhere else. The most damning piece of evidence suggesting this surfaced thanks to a video in which LeBron is heard saying he wants to reunite with Dwyane Wade if things go south with the Cavaliers.
Naturally this created a panic among Cavaliers fans and naturally LeBron James has downplayed it to make the comments seem like a non-issue. When asked about the comments before Wednesday night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, LeBron said that the comments were about something off the court.

Suuuure.
It’s looking like LeBron James might be seeking a way out to erase his mistake of coming to the Cavaliers in the first place, but this is what fans wanted to hear. He wants to build something in Cleveland — or so he says — and that’s going to take longevity.
Of course, LeBron might be saving face and saying what he needs to in order to make sure fans don’t riot, as leaving is still a very real possibility as the Cavaliers continue to sink in the East.
