Jameis Winston’s football career at Florida State is in limbo at the moment, but he seems ready to focus on baseball moving forward .

Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston is likely going to spend the next few nights thinking about the loss at the hands of the Oregon Ducks he suffered in the Rose Bowl. It’s very possible that the 59-20 loss was the last game Jameis Winston will play in at Florida State but the future isn’t filled with football at the moment.

In addition to being a Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, Winston is also a standout baseball player for the Seminoles.

According to Winston himself, the Florida State quarterback plans to play baseball for the Seminoles in 2015 and not focus on football — well, until he has to at least.

What this means is that Winston may be putting his NFL future on hold by playing for the Seminoles in the spring. Playing baseball doesn’t mean Winston will for sure lose track of his NFL future this spring, as he could very well do both without much of a problem.

That being said, Winston focusing on baseball for the Noles means that he may decide he’d rather ski[ the combines in the NFL and play baseball — which by default may lead him to returning to Florida State in 2015 for football.

Winston has not declared for the NFL Draft yet and has a few days to figure that all out. There is some unfinished business for Winston at Florida State, as he may prefer to go out on top rather than coming up short lie he did in the Rose Bowl.

For as polarizing a figure Jameis Winston was at Florida State, leaving his legacy on a 59-20 blowout loss may not be the most ideal way to wrap things up. He still has two years of eligibility left at Florida State, and Winston returning for at least one more year and improving his draft stock to solid No. 1 overall potential is something that may be more intriguing than anyone is giving credit to at the moment.
