While the Green Bay Packers wait to learn their first opponent in the NFL playoffs, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is staying away from the practice field and nursing his injured calf back to full health.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was forced out of the team’s regular season finale due to a calf injury. Luckily, the team has a first-round bye week in the postseason and Rodgers has time to fully recover.

While the rest of his teammates are out on the field staying ready for the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, Rodgers has been getting treatment.

In fact, Rodgers is expected to continue getting time off, with head coach Mike McCarthy saying the team’s star quarterback is unlikely to return to the field until next Thursday.

“Aaron is doing well. He’s been in treatment during the practice period,” McCarthy said, via the Green Bay Press Gazette. “We’ll do the same tomorrow. I really don’t see him getting on the practice field until Thursday at the earliest.”

With a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers, there isn’t much for the Packers fans to worry about.

Sure, you would like your quarterback to continue getting reps, but getting back to 100 percent is the most important thing for Rodgers and he should not be negatively impacted by the missed time — especially since Green Bay doesn’t even know who they will be playing next week.
