Report: Chip Kelly wants out of his Eagles contract
By Jack Crosby
There are reports swirling that the Philadelphia Eagles may be losing head coach Chip Kelly, who may want out.
In a bit of shocking news on Friday, Chip Kelly may have decided that his time with the Philadelphia Eagles is already up, as he has expressed some serious interest in getting out of his current contract with the team.
Now even though Kelly has only been with the team for two full seasons since leaving the college ranks, there have been whispers of some rifts between he and general manager Howie Roseman. Much like the situation that happened out in San Francisco with 49ers management and Jim Harbaugh, the two sides just cannot co-exist with one another. Most recently, Roseman fired vice president of player personnel Tom Gamble, a move that reportedly didn’t make Kelly a happy man.

Kelly came to coach the Eagles in the 2013 season from the Oregon Ducks, and although he took a lot of flack for his offensive system not being able to work at the NFL level, he led the team immediately to the NFC East title and an appearance in the playoffs.
2014 was not so kind to Kelly and the Eagles, however. Down the stretch it appeared as if they were poised to repeat as division champions, however they had some missteps down the stretch and that honor ultimately went to the rival Dallas Cowboys, who took care of the Eagles in their second meeting. By not winning the division, the Eagles were left out of the playoff picture for this year.
Now should Kelly get out of his deal with the Eagles, obviously the popular destination would be the aforementioned 49ers, where he would get to work with Colin Kaepernick with his offense, which would be a dream for anyone that is a fan of Kelly and the way he works.
There is, of course, also the potential possibilities open in Atlanta with the Falcons and Chicago with the Bears, but most people would love to see what he can do with the 49ers.
Nonetheless, this is an interesting situation to keep an eye on, to say the least.
